Match Report
Despite the weather the match went ahead. Starting temperature was 0 degrees with a wind chill making it feel like -7.
All 5 groups started off, led by non playing Captain, Andy Smart, in great spirit albeit moaning about the cold. After 7 holes we were up in 3 matches and down in 2 but the temperature was beginning to take it's toll.
Match 1 Jeff Morris and Andrew Laney-Davis were never behind and came in with a 4/3 win.
Match 2 Mark Mcintosh and Karl Stenning battled hard but were beaten by a pair that were holing putts from all over the place, unfortunately for them that lead to a 6/5 defeat.
Match 3 Jon Lynn and Stevie Wixon had a real battle giving up to 6 shots to playing partners but managed a 5/4 win.
Match 4 Dave Steward and Tony Braithwaite had a titanic battle, a match in which they were down after 7 bought it back to all square, but in the end were muscled out by some big hitting and eventually lost 3/2.
Match 5 Colyn Horn and Alan Wilkin were never behind and came in with our biggest win of 6/4.
Well played everyone!! Next round against Wareham or Bulbury venue to be decided on the bonus ball.
