12 players from the New Forest GC club were welcomed to the Ashley Wood for part one of a two leg match for the Hanvey/Sanger Trophy. A good day was enjoyed with a Breakfast before tee off supplied by our caterers Clubhouse1896 followed by 6 pairs playing 4 ball betterball matchplay followed by Sandwiches and Chips and a few drinks.
Congratulations to the New Forest Captain of the Day, Graham Lloyd for winning the Nearest the Pin prize on the 7th by hitting to within a couple of feet of the flag.
The first leg result was a win for The Ashley Wood by 5.5 to 0.5.
The return leg at the New Forest on Saturday 3rd June.
