The Hardy A played their first competitive match of the season away to Dudsbury in the League Cup.
Despite the recent spell of bad weather the course had recovered well and the greens were as impressive as they were true and fast.
Ashley Wood fielded a strong team, despite a few last minute changes, however, the team faced having to give shots in every match. This proved just a little too much away from home and they went down 6-2.
The team were spearheaded by Paul Dickinson and Roger Malcolm who both played well only for the shots to matter as both narrowly lost. Our young guns of Sam Russell and Jon Meaden followed with both performing brilliantly to win their matches and put us back in the tie. Unfortunately the remaining matches with Jamie Goslyn, Clem Woloszyn, Will Tindle and Dan Brockway all had a similar fate, where we were unable to recover from slow starts and lost.
We wish Neal and his team from Dudsbury the best of luck for the upcoming season and hope that they can go one further in the Cup having finished runners up last year.
