On Monday 2nd December the Seniors’ Section had their annual Christmas Scramble followed by a Christmas lunch.
Despite worries about the recent wet weather affecting the scramble, we were able to enjoy the full splendour of The Ashley Wood Golf course. For this time of year and with the recent cold and damp conditions, the course is playing wonderfully well with the greens in particularly fine fettle. Well done to Mark and the team for presenting the course so well.
Winners were the team consisting of Dave Hope, Kieron Peacock, Charlie Rigg & Roger Seddon
2nd place - Andy Reynolds, Colin Sturney, Martin Jelbart & Robin Tydeman
3rd place - Mark Baber, Bob Clark, Richard Pickup & Hedley Rodgers
4th place - Steve Gray, Chris Reeves, Stuart Fricker & Michael Clark.
After the short prize giving, we took to the table for a splendid meal with our guest for the day the Club President, Kay Everett.
The meal was efficiently served by our great caterers Clubhouse 1896. A massive thank you to Lee and his team for an awesome meal.
The day ran smoothly and everyone seemed to have enjoyed both the competition and the friendly after match atmosphere.
Special thanks go to Clive Jones for running the Raffle with such proficiency, Bob Clark for organising the competition with his normal efficiency and to Seniors Vice Captain, Bob Shipston for working in the background and sorting out the scoring, whilst we all enjoyed our golf
The generosity of those attending got the 2025 Seniors’ Captains Charity appeal Alzheimer's Society off to a great start making £420.
