Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance – Open Day – Sat 11th March
Following another successful year of collecting over £3,600 on behalf of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, an invitation was received for the Seniors’ Captain and some guests to their open day at Henstridge Airfield on Saturday 11th March.
Unfortunately only Angela Seddon, Ladies’ Captain, and Bob Clark, Seniors’ Captain, were able to attend on a very chilly and breezy March Morning. Helicopter Pegasus (“Peggy” to the station) was on display with an amazing number of DSAA personnel, some of which hadn’t come off shift until 0200 that morning.
All were waiting to warmly welcome us along with 50 or so other fundraisers or in some cases beneficiaries of their excellent service.
A very informative morning followed with the attendees being given the open access to all sections of the operation.
Although we were all happy when traversing the runway back to the car park and our soon to be warm cars, we all agreed it had been a very enjoyable visit.
Fundraising for the DSAA continues into 2023 via the Ladies and Seniors’ Sections of the club.
