Report on the match we played yesterday against Wareham GC in the Knighton Heath Knockout
The weather was bright and dry and despite the continuing northerly artic wind which seems to be have been with us for an age it was a good day for golf.
The match got off to a timely start, and despite a small dilemma, everything went well and players on both teams enjoyed the day, playing in the true spirit of the game. There were numerous positive remarks made by our opponents about the excellent condition of our course. So please pass on all of our thanks to Mark and his team. Unfortunately due to the current COVID restrictions it was left to the individual pairings to share a drink/food post-match which went fine.
The result of the match was a 7-3 win for Ashley Wood. A great performance by the team who should be congratulated. They were a few close games, going to the 18th for a result, and I’m sure over the next few days or so we will hear the near miss stories we all like to tell!!
