Throughout 2020 the Lady Captain and I raised monies for our selected club charity SSAFA The Armed Forces Charity.
I received the following from them recently:-
Dear Chris
On behalf of the Dorset Branch of SSAFA The Armed Forces Charity, I would like to thank you and your fellow golfers for the amazing donation of £5,210.77 raised during 2020.
When I wrote to say Thank You in December, the figure was £987.50, so you can imagine our delight and surprise when Linda wrote to alert us to the grand total of over 5 times that amount. This is truly staggering and much appreciated.
Please pass my thanks once again to all concerned for all their support. Your donation will make a difference and you should be quietly satisfied that your enjoyable hobby of golf will benefit those ex-service personnel within Dorset, who find themselves in need.
Thank you once again for choosing to support SSAFA given the number of other worthy charities requiring support during these difficult times, we do appreciate it and will ensure the donation is spent wisely.

This amount was, I'm sure you'll agree, a brilliant effort considering the limited number of events we were able to hold due to Covid and we would like to thank you all for your support and generosity.
I would like to thank all of those members who donated prizes and assisted Maxine and I as well as the local businesses and retailers who supported our raffles.
