On Saturday 4th May We welcomed Folke GC on a blustery cold day, which made the course more of a leveller for all the matches.
In a very close match that swung Ashley Woods way at the end, the team secured a 5-3 victory. The last few holes proving very decisive in each match.
Gary Weldon secured a win as our lead off player and a vital half was gained by David De La Haye despite being 2 down after 16, Jerry Cocking and Simon Cogdell both lost however, Nick Blazier turned his match around to win on the last and Alan Makovecz held his nerve on the last to also win 1 up. David Muncer won the last two holes to secure his half point whilst Jonathan Lynn made his debut for the team and managed a 5&4 victory.
Home advantage and local knowledge certainly played its part in a hard fought win.
