"It was a blustery day" at The Ashley Wood to welcome our visitors Chris Morgan and his team from Canford School in our first home fixture of the year.
Despite the blustery conditions the game was played in a wonderful atmosphere. The weather made the course most challenging for both teams. Our thanks must go to the greenkeepers for producing a challenging, yet, fair course to play on, thanks also to Lee and his team for a wonderful pre match breakfast, much appreciated by all.
As for the match Ashley Wood won by 3 1/2 to 1 1/2. A good start to the season.
There were some solid performances by all. With wins for Dave Purver and Paul Hampson 2&1, Colin Jowett and Karl Stenning 4&3 and Colyn Horn and Andy Smart 3&1.
There was a battling half for Nick Olding and Andy Laney-Davis and Andy Armitage and Stevie Wixon had a hard fought battle which, they unfortunately lost.
Well played everyone, let's look forward to our next game against Folke at home.
