Today saw the 2017 Spring Open sponsored by JEWSONS which despite an initial rainy start for the first hour, the 160 competitors managed to play the 18 holes (best 2 scores on each hole) Stableford Competition without getting too wet.
Thanks to our franchise caterers Clubhouse 1896 who provided Coffee and Bacon Roll on arrival followed by a Roast Dinner when players had completed their 18 holes.
These days don't organise themselves and special thanks go to Clem Woloszyn who headed up the Open Committee and was assisted by Clive Jones (Club Captain), Paul Jones (Head PGA Pro), Jeff Morris (Chair of Golf), Jon Meaden (Assistant Pro), Mike Batty (General Manager) and Steve Sanger (Vice Captain).
Also many thanks to our 1st Tee starters who included Dave Heath (Club President), Joe Robbins (Past President), Steve Pardey (2016 Club Captain) and Grahame Webb (Past Senior's Captain)
There were some good scores during the day with players competing for over £1,200 worth of Prizes.
