The Hardy A Team played their Cup Quarter Final on Sunday in glorious conditions on Sunday afternoon and our team proved too hot for Ferndown Forest to cope with as they ran out winners 7-1.
Led off by Max Cogdell, who played stunning golf to record a 6&4 win despite giving 5 shots to his opponent, he was followed by Mike Collings who returned an impressive 3&2 victory conceding 6 shots. Stuart Ratcliffe and Tommy Diffey both won their matches 4&3 whilst giving 5 and 4 shots respectively. John Walbridge, battled as only John does, typified by his approach to 16 from behind a tree to knock it to the back edge from 220 yards, a simply stunning golf shot he won a tight tense game 1up to clinch the result. Angus Macpherson played his first game for the team this year and returned a 3&2 win. A late replacement and huge thank you to Colin Jowett, who made his debut for the team and returned a half point. Whilst Mick Boyle also provided a half point against his massive hitting opponent.
A brilliant performance on the day from the team, the individual results speak for themselves how well the team played.
